Woods' Insolvency and Restructuring group contributed to two of the five files shortlisted for Insolvency Deal of the Year at the second annual Canadian Law Awards, namely:
- The CCAA restructuring of Cirque du Soleil: Woods acted as Quebec counsel to the ad hoc committee of Cirque du Soleil’s first lien lenders;
- The CCAA restructuring of Nemaska Lithium: Woods acted as counsel to the ad hoc committee of senior secured bondholders and the bond trustee, Nordic Trustee AS.
Our team is also shortlisted for a Case Award in the Commercial Litigation Team of the Year category for its success at the Supreme Court of Canada in 9354-9186 Québec inc. v. Callidus Capital Corp. These nominations exemplify our ability to serve clients throughout the country in the most complex cases with the highest level of excellence.

The winners will be announced virtually at the Canadian Law Awards on May 20. The Canadian Law Awards showcases excellence in the legal community over the past year.
