Caroline Biron is a partner in the firm since 2003, who handles litigation files dealing with a great variety of issues of civil and commercial nature, notably as pertains to disputes involving corporations, their shareholders, commercial contracts, competition law, and class actions. Amongst others, she regularly represents defendants in class actions regarding price fixing alleged conspiracies. She has a solid expertise in matters of professional liability and directors’ and officers’ liability. She regularly defends various professionals in relation to disciplinary proceedings, and furthermore, has advised many directors and officers who must testify in the context of inquiries carried out by various regulatory bodies, notably the Autorité des marchés financiers.
She also acquired considerable experience in litigation involving financial institutions, oppression remedies and extraordinary remedies such as injunctions. She has also represented the interests of various parties in the context of defamation suits and lawsuits and injunctions in connection with advertising.
Mtre. Biron handles commercial arbitrations and provides advice to clients in relation to dispute settlements.
She has represented her clients before all Quebec and federal tribunals as well as regulatory bodies.
Legal counsel for Navigant Consulting LJ Inc. in two motions by Pharmaprix Inc. and the Quebec Pharmacists operating under its banner seeking to obtain by way of a safeguard order the stay of an administrative inquiry of the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ) on the basis of an alleged conflict of interests and the alleged communication of privileged information by its forensic accountants, Navigant Consulting LJ Inc. These motions were rejected by the Honourable Brian Riordan, j.c.s., on July 7, 2014 and his decision was confirmed by the Court of Appeal of Quebec on October 22, 2014.

Legal counsel for a CVTech Group minority shareholder in the attempt to replace its Board of Directors.
Legal counsel for several officers of public issuers in the context of inquiries carried out by the Autorité des marchés financiers of suspicious transactions or of the adequacy of the continuous disclosure.
Legal counsel for a majority shareholder of a major Canadian telecommunications corporation in a litigation following a hostile takeover bid by another major Canadian corporation.
Legal counsel for a group of minority shareholders in the context of the privatization of a major Quebec corporation.
Litigation legal counsel for Canadian and European corporations in relation to motions for authorization to institute class actions based on conspiracy allegations of fixing prices and dividing markets in the province of Quebec.
