Laurence joined Woods in 2016 and develops a civil and commercial litigation practice. She began her career by clerking for the Honourable Marie Deschamps, then judge at the Supreme Court of Canada. She next completed her articling for the Quebec Bar and practiced in commercial litigation and professional liability at a national firm. Afterwards, she worked in international arbitration at a leading Parisian boutique. She had then been involved in commercial and investment arbitration proceedings, which were notably governed by the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) and the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID).
A member of the Quebec, Ontario and Paris bars, she holds a civil law degree from the Université de Montréal and a Juris Doctor from the Osgoode Hall Law School. Before studying law, she received a degree in international relations and international law from the Université du Québec à Montréal.
