Eric Bédard has carried out a significant amount of files notably involving contractual litigation in commercial matters and shareholders dispute, including in settings of injunctions, and acted successfully on behalf of professionals whose liability could be found. He also has a good experience in disciplinary and penal proceedings, as well as of issues relating to professional ethics. He completed his articling within the firm and has since pleaded before the first instance and appeal courts as well as certain administrative tribunals of the province of Quebec. He distinguishes himself by his attentiveness, the confidence he inspires, and his sensitivity to the issues that exceed the legal frame.


Part of the team acting on behalf of Chrysler Canada inc. in the context of its action in professional negligence against the accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand, one of the files of the Castor Holdings Ltd. saga.

Frequently acts in litigious files regarding the acquisition, transfer and publication of mining rights and permits, the valuation of such rights and the reporting requirements incumbent upon rights holders under applicable mining and securities law and regulation.

Argued successfully that a sports clothing distributor had serious grounds to terminate without notice its contractual relationship with a sales representative in Tourignyv. F3 Distribution inc., 2014 QCCS 3585.

Was part of the team acting on behalf of a consortium of purchasers formed notably of the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan in the context of a contractual litigation where BCE Inc. was claiming from our clients a $1.2 G penalty following its failed privatization. His work notably led to the important interlocutory decision reported in BCE inc.v. Ontario Teacher's Pension Plan Board, 2010 QCCS 5607.

Represented an important agricultural ventilation supplier in a complex commercial dispute with ramifications in various jurisdictions, including in VES Environmental Solutions c. Ventec Canada inc., 2011 QCCS 4607 andVES Environmental Solutions, l.l.c. c.9229-5518 Québec inc., 2011 QCCS 6292, confirmed by 2012 QCCA 23.

Played a significant role in defending GENIVAR Inc.’s interests in the context of the successful contestation of a claim in professional liability against our client which had designed hydraulic works, in Rendez-vous à la rivière pour l'an 2000 v.GENIVAR inc., 2011 QCSC 7215; J.E. 2012-220.

Played a significant role in representing an accounting firm sued for professional liability in relation to the production of documents to Canada Revenue Agency. The Superior Court dismissed the suit, in Gestion Michel Noël ltée v. Dallaire, Forest, Kirouac, Comptables Agréés, 2011 QCCS 1293, appeal dismissed by motion in 2011 QCCA 809.
